The Sharing Shed

We know that good sleep is essential to mental clarity and emotional wellbeing, which can suffer greatly in the wake of a crisis. Inadequate sleep can exacerbate the emotional effects of crisis situations for children, making it harder for them to stay on track in school and cope with stress. That's why Mattress Direct makes monthly deliveries of brand new, quality twin mattresses for the children of families supported by The Sharing Shed. We hope to ease the impact of crisis situations by ensuring that these children have a bed that will help them get the sleep they need to be successful in school and healthy overall. The Sharing Shed's mission is to create independence for fragile families when they are dealing with hardship and loss. As a subsidiary of Community Resource Partners, The Sharing Shed is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that helps families as they are recovering after flood or fire, have been displaced due to loss of employment, are fleeing abusive situations, or are recovering from homelessness or other hardship. Through the help of several area churches and donations from the public, The Sharing Shed provides gently used housewares and furniture to their clients at no cost in a dignified, boutique shopping-like manner.
